The article explained that the movie, "Interstellar" is about humanity needing to leave Earth due to massive crop failures. For the rest of the article it explained about the mechanics behind black holes and what would actually need to happen for this movie's technology to happen in real life.
My opinion about this is that I don't think any of this science and technology would ever work in real life. Sure we have gotten to Mars and the moon, but that's easy, just send a rocket up, but there is too much sketchy science and figures that I feel like scientists just come up with.
I will not be watching this movie in theaters. The only way I will ever watch it is if I am REALLY bored and it's the only thing on TV (most likely on the syfy channel).
The tech research required to achieve the sort of things you see in the movie are coming at us fast enough to make your head spin.
ReplyDeleteAlso, we didn't just go to Mars, either. We lowered a sky crane over the surface of the planet that took around 9 months to reach and lowered an even smaller rover to do some intense research. Also, we just recently landed a rover on a comet.
A comet. 84,000 miles per hour. How can that not impress you? That was not chance; that was calculated. It can be a lot to wrap you're head around, but it's more than just a shot in the dark. It's a shot in the dark that takes decades of research and years of planning and brain-racking math just to get on the right track. It's science, yo.
